December 2010
Happy Christamas everyone and a prosporous new year.
The December meeting turned out to be a gathering of those with 4 x 4 vehicles!!. We met up at the Fairfield Arms and with no TVR tyres to "kick" went straight inside for coffee. Just our luck to choose the day
their seating system was off. Needless to say we did not have a run out
to Beacon Fell though Paul Forrest had been up near Longridge to buy a
Christmas tree and said we wouldn't have made it anyway.
Bob Cuthbertson gave us a run down on the Scotland trip and which
hotels he had booked, and I told people I had downloaded a "brochure" of all the range of TVR clothing if they wanted to order things. That
was about it, so just a chat and some food and then off shopping or
back home.
I will keep you posted on the venue for the January meeting but likely
to be the Eagle & Child at Weeton
Take care
Dave

November Sunday 28th Nov
Here are the announcements and notes from yesterday.
Club day this month was a bit different in that we visited Track v
Road and went on to the Bashall Barn afterwards for lunch. A very good
turnout of cars and members for this event with 13 TVR’S and 22 people.
We were also joined by Dave Shepherd and his partner Val who attended a
meeting for the first time in his new T350C.
Eilert and Jack also came along and for those of you who dont know
Eilert is an undrgraduate from Norway who is basing his thesis on TVR
Cars. Jack has chosen the invasion of Britain as the subject of his
thesis and as we go into raptures about TVR he gets excited over WW2
Pil boxes and air raid shelters! They are both great lads. The clear
cold sunny weather showed the Lancashire countryside at its best with
many stunning views from the Longridge fell road. Many thanks to
Richard and Craig for their hospitality and there were some cracking
cars in their new showroom. The M series and the 350 wedge in
particular seemed to be bargains and I bet they are not in there long.
I hope you all enjoyed the day as much as Ann and I did and thank you
all for your company.

REGIONAL ORGANISERS
It is that time fo year when the positions of R.O. and Deputy R.O come
up for re election. Both Russ and I are willing to stand for another
year if re elected but if you or some other member wants to stand for
either position we would not mind at all. In fact the recent BNG / BH
has shown we have a lot of very capable organisers within our region
and I include a number of our lady members in that statement.
Russ Larcombe states "I has really enjoyed helping the region enjoy a
very successful year of events, I think there are are still lots of
areas we could improve upon and will explore further possibilities with
the members if re elected"
For my part I can say looking back that the support you have all given
Russ and I has been fantastic and I am frequently amazed how much help
has been offered when we were in a "bit of a corner." I have attached
a downloadable form should any one wish to stand for either position..
I will also have some forms with me at the meeting on the 30th of
September.
FINANCE
Club funds~ we need to decide what we do with the money raised at
raffles etc. Suggestions include: Subsidy of Xmas meal, food and drink
at an event like Oulton Park, Transport to a function / event, donation
to charity etc. I will be asking for your thoughts at the next meeting.
A VIDEO EVENING
A possible evening somewhere to show the video of the BNG / BACK HOME.
This could be at the Fylde Boat Angling club one Tuesday evening if
they are up to it.
XMAS MEAL
Which could include a review of the year in the form of photo's or
videos. Penny Clayton has offfered to arrange this so any thoughts on
what and when and where? Possible dates, assuming a Sunday are: 12th
and 19th of December.

Who is going do we want to pool transport to get there?
