Piece Hall 2010 report by Dave Welton, Photo's by Carol Walsh
Six cars set of from the Tickled Trout heading for Piece Hall on a glorious Sunday morning. The temperature was already heading towards 20 degrees as we joined the Motorway. Due to the late arrival of “Bowler Bob” we were delayed long enough for Alan from the Lanc’s region to tag on the back of the convoy. I have invited Alan and the Lancashire members to join us on our trip to North West Scotland next year as we went at separate times 2 years ago. The run to Hartshead services on the M62 was uneventful but It was the first time I can say I was warm in the car with the hood down this year!. Only two cars at Hartshead on our arrival but by the time we were ready to set off to piece Hall the car park boasted over 60 TVR’s.
Piece Hall is a good venue with only a short walk into Halifax and plenty of food outlets and pubs in the actual complex. I estimate about 150 TVR’s were on display plus one Jaguar E type!. A short excursion into town saw Bob buy a mantle clock (I hope it met with Vicky’s approval Bob) the rest of us just bought ice creams. As the event progressed we were treated to some Brass band music on the stage in the complex. It was only on the way home we passed through Brighouse and Rastrick, yes we were lost again, that I made the connection with the band. At about 2:00 most of the Blackpool crowd set off home the main reason being we were too hot in the sun, it’s not often we say that in Britain is it?. A good event that has more than doubled in size since last year.
