2 teams of 4 and one of 5 Contested the 2 hour Enduro challenge at Trax in Preston. Blackpool have not beaten Lanc's at any sporting Contest since "Adam was a lad ", or at least since I joined the club in 2004, so with this in mind we enlisted (Quite legally) the person who holds the lap record at the circuit plus another vastly experienced kart racer, alias Heath Briggs and Jonathan Kay. Unfortunately this ploy did not work either as Don Hastie, the organiser, arranged for names to be drawn at random for each of the 3 teams.
Our respective team names were A.R.S. (Are Rock Sucks), B.L.X. ( No explanation required) and P.I.E (Some strange Lanc's region fetish) . Some of the team members were then given a 10 minute practice to get to know the track. However, most of us had to just jump in at the first driver change over and learn as we went! The race started with a wet track and on some of the bends it was like driving round the Blackpool Ice rink, if any one tells you they never spun it don't believe them every one of us DID.
I won't attempt to describe the race except to say it was brilliant fun and our 15 minute sessions at the wheel seemed over in a nano second! , and that was despite me feeling travel sick whilst driving. Never had that before so maybe I should not have had a mushroom omelette for breakfast.
Any way the results…….Did I fail to mention that there was one other team of 2 men in the race calling themselves the Jedward Bro's?…….. Oh I didn't ?………... Well they won.

Sorry I can't tell you who did the fastest lap times as they were not named.
Don has said he will arrange another session next year and it would be great to get 10 teams of 4 so we have more Kart's on the track So we will invite S. Cumbria and Cheshire region as well. A Team from BA e Systems has also thrown down the gauntlet and threatened to thrash us. The more the merrier.
Next time I will be available to advise people where the best places are for overtaking AS JUST ABOUT EVERYONE GOT PAST ME SOMEWHERE ON THE CIRCUIT !………………..Thanks to every one who arranged and competed in the event IT WAS BRILLIANT. Captain Slow ……. Alias Dave Welton
