Karting Challenge at Trax 26 July 2010

The weather did not look good as we set off for the “Lancashire Area karting Team Challenge” at Trax in Preston. Eight teams from Lanc’s, Manchester & York’, Blackpool Regions and two teams from BAe competed in what was a very enjoyable day out. Blackpool entered both a men’s and a ladies team. The teams of 4 people drove in 15 minute stints for the 2 hour endurance race. The lap times were down in the 68 second mark for the Driving God’s and 80 second region for us mere mortals. Everyone I spoke to said how much they had enjoyed the event and saying they would like another similar race. I know the girls in particular were a bit worried before the start but afterwards all said it was great fun. Well done to all who took part, especially the girls, and a big thanks to Don Hastie for organizing it all.

Oh I almost forgot to tell you who won with 83 laps recorded…………BLACKPOOL BOYS!

Photo's of our two teams. The girls are from left to right Angela Courtney, Sarah Burndred, Janette Malpus, Carol Walsh. The boys are Dave Courtney, myself, Heath Briggs and his younger brother Rob Briggs.
