Cholmondeley Pageant Of Power July 2010
25 TVR’s joined the other car clubs on Saturday at Cholmondeley. Dave Cahill, Russ Larcombe & Dave Hothersall kept the Blackpool flag flying with Russ doing his best to promote entries for BNG.
The day started a bit wet but not enough to close the sprint track as on previous years. Whilst the organisers have a few organisation issues to improve, the Pageant of Power has grown from nothing to a very credible national event in only 3 years.
POWER was well represented by Cars, Bikes, Boats, Planes & Tanks.
Some of the tasty vehicles, included –
- A beautiful sounding 1957 Gelera4 Grand Prix bike,
- Challenger & Warrior tanks,
- Williams FW06 F1 car (1978)
- ‘Brutus’ a 1917 - 47 litre (yes that’s 47 litre) BMW aero engine car.
- ‘Baby Birtha’ a well known Vauxhall special saloon racer (1975)
- Ferrari 500 TRC 1957
- Lamboghini Gallardo – 2010
And last but not least a 1000 BHP JCB Dragster, pulling wheelies round the track.
There where many other events (maybe too many) including a Mock Military battle, Scrambling, Power boat racing, Helicopter displays, Wing Walkers and a flypast by a Spitfire and BAC Strike Master.
There was an option to attend the evening Concert and Firework display.
Well worth the visit and one for next years diary – let’s increase the numbers there really is something for everybody.
Thanks to Paul Wilson (Cheshire TVRCC) for organising the TVR ‘stand’.
Dave Cahill
