TVR Chimaera 400 1998– Very low mileage mint example £10,500
TVR Chimaera 400 with 30,537 miles; this is a 1998 facelift model and has full service history from TVR main dealers and TVR specialists. It has a black half-hide interior as well as a stainless steel dashboard.
The chassis is in excellent condition and has recently had the wishbones painted and waxoyled. The hood and rear screen are in excellent condition, with no rips or tears. I have always used covers on the bars that hold the rear part of the roof up so they don’t mark the screen when it is lowered. The interior of this car is as new, the seats and carpets are in excellent condition. The only parts on the car that are not OEM are the Magnacore HT leads and the tyres which are Dunlop Sport SP 01 all round.
There are two keys with the car, as well as lots of documentation. Also included in the sale is an Accumate trickle charger, which can be plugged into the cigarette lighter or into a wire installed in the passenger foot well. I will also include the second edition of the ‘Bible’ written by Steve Heath. The private plate is not included with sale. The original plate is R380 NGO.
The car is only used during the summer, and has just had a 12k mile service at TVR specialist Back Home Performance in Blackpool. I have always run the car on Shell V-Power, as I find the engine runs smoother.
Bad points:
All alloys have a small yellow/brown mark on; this was done when the tyres were last changed. There are about 6 stone chips on the bonnet, although they are very small and hardly noticeable. The near side rear lights have a layer of dust on; I can only assume that there is a break in the seal somewhere. It would be a simple fix if I had the time.
Apart from these three minor defects, I can’t think of anyway this car could be in better condition.
I have owned this car since July 2007, during which time I have done only 4000 miles. During that time it has never been driven in the rain and had always been garaged. However, I now work in Holland and have little or no time to enjoy the car anymore so the car is now ready to sell. I am not desperate to sell so will not accept silly offers.
The car can be viewed on any night of the week and at weekends.
