Barbon Hill Climb 4 Feb 10

I've just added another motorsport event to the calendar. The infomatin is from Bob Cuthbertson :

The event - Barbon Hill Climb - on Sat 08th May 2010.
This is a "National A" event - attended by the serious hill-climbers.
(But I'm sure Welly and Jim W could enter the Tas??)

Barbon is just north of Kirkby Lonsdale - off the Sedburgh road.
The track is @ 1/2 mile long, and viewing from the top of the climb is pretty good, for 90% of the track.
One problem when I last went in wettish weather - public parking is in a roughish field, and it may be better suited to my Volvo estate than the TVR.

Take a picnic, plus chair ...... a good day out.

How many TVRs passed/failed MOTs 13 Jan 10

For anyone that is interested VOSA have released data (for 2007 by make/model/year) of passed/failed MOTs. 2008 and 2009 will be released later in the year. This has been done due to FOI request by the BBC. You can also see what they were failing on, lights ,brakes etc

From the data it looks like the following had passed in 2007 : Cerbera - 753, Chimaera - 3199, Griffith - 1124, S's - 549, Sagaris - 2, T350 - 258, T400R - 9, Tamora - 192, Tasmin - 285, Tuscan - 910

National Event Dates released 4 Jan 10

The dates for the national TVRCC events have been released. I've added them to the Events Calendar. So you can now plan for Chatsworth, S-Club Heaven, ROAR, Griff Growl, Pre-80's.

There are also 2 new national events - Big Southern Gathering, the southerners obviously felt left out because we have the BNG. The 2nd event is Rumble in the Jungle at The Lost Gardens of Heligan, St.Austell, Cornwall. No information as yet to what this entails.

Autosport International and Pistonheads Show @ NEC 2 Jan 10

If anyone is going to the Autosport/Pistonheads show @ the NEC, keep an eye out for club member Paul Taylor who has 2 cars in the PistonHeads car display area. There will be his blue V8S after its recent chassis work and also his Gray Mini Cooper Sport.

Tan Hill Inn Run out - CANCELLED 22 Dec 09

We have decided to call off the run through North Yorkshire this Sunday as we feel it will be to dangerous and more like driving down the 'Cresta bob sleigh run'. We will organise it again in the Spring. We will hold a normal club meet at The Shovels starting from 11:30am

Tuscan Challenge race dates (provisional) announced 18 Dec 09

The dates for next years Tuscan Challenge races have been announced. There will be 6 race weekends starting on 10th April @ Cadwell and finishing 16th Oct @ Oulton Park. The full list of dates have been added to the Events Calendar

A member of the TVRCC who has experience of organising European car trips and other events has set up a company to organise trips to Le Mans 24hr and Le Mans Classic. He is currently organising next year’s trip to Le Mans Classic. read more

Run out to Tan Hill Inn - December 27th - Cancelled 14 Dec 09

We will leave the Shovels pub in Blackpool at 11:00 am and pick up more members at the Tickled Trout (Just off J31 of the M6) at 11:30am.

The route will be via Clitheroe, Slaidburn, Settle, Horton in Ribblesdale, Hawes, over Buttertubs Pass and up to Tan Hill. We will be coming back via Kirby Stephen and join the motorway at Tebay. The total mileage from the Tickled Trout and back to the Tickled Trout is 146 miles and the drive time is 3 hrs 37 mins.

A word from the Assistant R.O. 1 Dec 09

Thanks for your non opposition to me taking up the position of Assistant RO. All those that want to be Assistant RO take one step forward.
I would like to say a few words on plans for the future.
First of all it will be business as usual with I hope Johns on going involvement with the region be it in a slightly different capacity.
We have no plans to move the venue as the sunday/winter, evening/summer at the Shovels seems to be working. read more
