LAKELAND CLASSIC CAR SHOW 13th July. Leighton Hall Nr Carnforth
Leighton Hall is the historic seat of the Gillow family, the furniture makers. The house is still lived in by the family  and is very much a home. There are woodland walks and things for children as well.  See here for more

TOUR OF THE LAKES 29th July.
A total of 16 Cars from the Blackpool and South Cumbria and North East region enjoyed a great tour of the lakes and the mountain passes. The weather was mainly dry and often sunny thank goodness, as even in the dry our rear wheels struggled for grip on the mountain passes.
The highlight of the day for me was the run up Hard Knott pass which is a 33%  gradient in places, 1st gear wheel spin and the smell of burning rubber and that from me "Captain Tootle along"!
The low point was Keith scratching his Tuscan on a hedge row as some chap in a BMW hogged the centre of a narrow road. Keith has since told me it polished out, thank goodness.
Leading the cars along single track twisting roads with blind bends and brows  as well as the odd sheep and even some chickens in the road, made me so tired I slept through most of "Top gear that night!
I hope you all got home to your respective regions safely and enjoyed some of the less well known roads of the Lakes.   See here for more photo's
